A Day #withoutshoes

“Michelle is the production coordinator with a passion for communication and the media. Having recently graduated with a degree in mass media, and dreams of ruling the world, Michelle brings a fresh take on all things news – technology, politics, and yes, even sports. Her love for people makes the job something she loves, which is obvious in all that she does for the studio.

Today is Cinco de Mayo, so naturally, I’m anxiously awaiting 5pm so I can giddily consume tacos and margarita(s). Even though I’ve been feeling this excitement for most of the day, I saw something online that made my margaritas seem very unimportant, very quickly.

I’m sure everyone’s heard of TOMS. Ya know, the canvas shoes that look really comfortable to wear? They’re also the company that gives back in some way for every TOMS product purchased. Well, TOMS just announced that they’re celebrating their 9th birthday by giving away a pair of shoes to a child in need for every Instagram post of bare feet with the hashtag #withoutshoes.

I mean, how awesome is that? You can personally help a child in another country without spending a dime!

So here’s my feet. They haven’t seen a pedicure in almost a month, they easily fit into children’s sneakers, and they’re giving away a pair of shoes today.
