Compostable Plastic Bags

Usually when we take out the garbage, it’s picked up and hauled away and we forget about it, right? But the thing is, it doesn’t just vanish. It goes to a landfill where it stacks up. Every year Americans trow millions of tons of flexible plastic packages to the garbage. These packages have no recycling solution. So, what can we do to lower our garbage impact on the world? Well, TIPA created compostable plastic packaging that retains all the qualities of regular Flexible plastic packages, but with an end of life that’s good for the environment.

The world is changing. The level of consumption is growing dramatically and at the same time awareness is rising. We all understand that we cannot continue using packages as we have done before, and something has to change. Well, TIPA’s vision is to change all packages into compostable packaging so packaging can be treated as a resource and fully go back to nature.” Daphna Nissenbaum, CEO & Co-Founder, TIPA

TIPAlock is the first home compostable, freezer safe, transparent zipper bag to hit the market. Well, TIPA created compostable plastic packaging that retains all the qualities of regular flexible plastic packages, but with an end of life that’s good for the environment. After testing in TIPA’s lab, it was found that after only few months, there was no trace that the package was ever there.

The world is changing. The level of consumption is growing dramatically and at the same time awareness is rising. We all understand that we cannot continue using packages as we have done before, and something has to change. Well, TIPA’s vision is to change all packages into compostable packaging so packaging can be treated as a resource and fully go back to nature. Most of us, once we finish using the product, we treat the product as a nuisance. Imagine if we could treat those packages as a resource, as opposed to a nuisance. Imagine that those packages could be treated the same as an orange peel, the same thing as an organic waste.”

So use them to store food or pack a lunch but afterwards just toss them and know they won’t be adding to the already out of control garbage problem. Or use it for home composting and grow a tree to add some beauty to the world.

“Well the package fully decomposes and only biomass remains from the package. That can be used as a fertilizer. It’s the same process as all organic waste.”

There are currently three different sizes perfect for the small snack or a big meal.
